THE ESSENTIALS IN 30 SECONDS
- Bundled Gemini Code Assist entitlements in existing Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus subscriptions end on March 31, 2027.
- New Gemini Enterprise subscriptions have not included Code Assist since October 9, 2026, the same day Google stopped selling standalone Code Assist Standard and Enterprise.
- Google names Antigravity, included in Gemini Enterprise editions, as the path for agentic coding; Code Assist support until the cutoff is limited to Gemini 3.x models.
Google is removing Gemini Code Assist from its Gemini Enterprise subscriptions. An announcement in the Gemini Enterprise release notes, dated November 6, 2026, says the coding assistant entitlement bundled with existing Standard and Plus subscriptions ends on March 31, 2027, after which it is removed.
What changes and when
According to the release notes, new Gemini Enterprise subscriptions have not included a Code Assist entitlement since October 9, 2026. Existing customers keep access until the end of March, but with a restriction: Google says support for Code Assist during that period covers only the Gemini 3.x model family.
The November notice extends a move Google began in October. In the Gemini Code Assist release notes, an October 9 announcement says new Code Assist Standard and Enterprise subscriptions can no longer be purchased from that date. Google's sunset page for those plans sets out the remaining calendar: January 31, 2027 is the last day to auto-renew annual subscriptions or add licences, December 31, 2027 the last day to auto-renew monthly ones, and existing subscriptions stay supported until their contracts end.
Antigravity as the replacement
For agentic coding, Google points customers to Google Antigravity, which the notes say is included in Gemini Enterprise editions. The sunset page describes Antigravity as the going-forward option, mentions Antigravity extensions for VS Code and JetBrains, and links a guide for moving from Gemini CLI to Antigravity CLI. Separately, on October 20 Google made generally available an enterprise gateway for routing Antigravity's model traffic.
The sunset page does not address the free Code Assist tier for individuals or Code Assist's GitHub code review, so it is unclear from Google's documentation whether those are affected.
Other items in the same update
The November 6 notes also announce a public preview of an Adobe data store that lets Gemini Enterprise users search and manage Creative Cloud assets in natural language, and general availability of Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash, which replaces Veo 3.1 for video generation in the global region. A URL change for Gemini Notebook Enterprise, starting November 16, may require administrators to update firewall allowlists. The release tracker Releasebot, which also summarised the Code Assist change, lists same-day updates to other Google products, such as a Memory Bank console page in Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and the deprecation of gemini-embedding-2-preview in the Gemini API.
