What it does

ElevenLabs is an audio AI platform best known for text-to-speech. Its models include Eleven v4, presented as its most expressive, Eleven v3 (audio tags for emotion, 70+ languages), Multilingual v2 for long-form narration, and low-latency Flash/Turbo models for real-time use. Beyond reading text aloud, the platform offers a large voice library, voice design and cloning, a Studio for long projects, dubbing, speech-to-text, a voice changer, voice isolation, sound effects and music generation. ElevenAgents builds conversational voice assistants. Everything is available on the web and through APIs and SDKs, and a mobile app for iOS and Android creates voiceovers on the phone.

Pricing and plans

Plans are based on monthly credits. Free gives 10,000 credits, three Studio projects and most tools, but the commercial license and instant voice cloning start with paid plans. Starter is $6 per month (the pricing page showed a $1 first-month offer) with 30,000 credits, a commercial license and instant cloning. Creator is $22 per month (half price for the first month) with 121,000 credits and professional voice cloning. Pro costs $99 per month (600,000 credits, higher-quality audio via API), Scale $299 (1.8 million credits, 3 seats) and Business $990 (6 million credits, 10 seats); Enterprise is custom, with options such as DPAs, SLAs and HIPAA BAAs. Prices are in US dollars and may vary with tax; separate pricing applies to the API and agents.

Strengths and limits

ElevenLabs covers most voice tasks in one account, with many languages and an API suited to developers. Limits: credits run out quickly on long texts or expressive models, model limits differ (for example 5,000 characters per request for v4), the commercial license is listed only from Starter upward, and professional cloning and team seats require higher tiers. Voice cloning raises consent questions; users should only clone voices they have rights to.
