Kling AI

What it does

Kling AI is a video and image generation service run by Kuaishou, the Chinese short-video company. From a text prompt or one or more reference images, it creates short clips; the Kling 3.0 series generates 3 to 15 seconds per run, adds native audio (dialogue, ambience, sound effects and lip movement) and, according to Kuaishou, native 4K output. A multi-shot mode lets users define framing, camera movement and duration for several shots in a single generation. Kling also creates and edits images. It is available in a web studio, an iPhone app (published by Kling AI Pte. Ltd.) and a developer API; in 2026 Kuaishou also launched a Kling MCP server and CLI so that AI agents can drive batch production.

Pricing and plans

Kling uses credits. New users get free credits, and Kling says a free allowance can be renewed monthly, with limits on models, resolution and watermark-free downloads. Paid memberships, named Standard, Pro, Premier and Ultra in a Kling blog post from July 2026, add monthly credits; the same post cites about 30 credits per second for 4K video. Kling's web pricing pages did not show plan prices when we checked, so prices are not listed here: see the membership page on kling.ai. On the US App Store, Standard is sold in-app at $10.00 per month. Prices may vary by region, promotions and tax.

Strengths and limits

Kling combines video, sound and image generation with fairly long clips and high resolution, and it offers an API for production workflows. Limits: the credit cost rises with resolution, length and audio, and Kling notes that credits, prices and access rules can change. The App Store privacy label states that some usage data and identifiers may be used for tracking and advertising. Users handling sensitive material should read Kling's terms and privacy policy before uploading it.
